Supervision

Empowering Supervision for MFTs and Sex Therapists

Whether you're training in Marriage & Family Therapy, Sex Therapy, or both, supervision with me can hold these dual threads. With deep grounding in both specialties, I support emerging and established therapists weave systemic thinking around sexual health, gender, relationships, and the body into informed, ethical, and authentic clinical practice.

I am an AAMFT Approved Supervisor licensed in Colorado, Hawaii, Iowa, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina & Virginia. In addition to supervising pre-licensure Marriage & Family Therapists, as a Supervisor-In-Training for sex therapists and sexuality counselors, I also work with clinicians pursuing AASECT certifications as a Certified Sex Therapist or Certified Sexuality Counselor.

Supervision with me means working alongside someone deeply committed to cultural humility, collaboration, and staying abreast of latest research. You can expect a supportive, informed, and shame-free space where:

  • Growth is nurtured through curiosity

  • Clinical challenges are welcomed as opportunities to expand skills

  • Oppressive systemic forces are named and explored

  • You’re encouraged to develop your own distinct therapeutic voice

One Supervisor, Two Threads: MFT & Sex Therapy

Starting out? Supervision for pre-licensed therapists

If you’re in training, starting to see clients, and drawn to work holding the nuances of sexuality, gender, the body, chronic illness, and/or neurodivergence with a multi-systems lens, you’re in the right place.

I bring over 10 years of experience of private practice in Marriage & Family Therapy and Sex Therapy which translates to about 10,000+ hours spent sitting across from clients. Even I can admit that is a lot! I bring that depth of experience into supervision while honoring the valuable perspectives you also bring, showing up with cultural humility and curiosity so our work feels like a true partnership.

The best bit? With me, your clinical and supervision hours can count toward both your MFT licensure and AASECT certification. So you don’t need to double up. Many aren’t aware that you can begin accruing hours toward AASECT certification before you're licensed. That means that even if you're still figuring out whether AASECT certification is right for you, accruing hours with me now keeps the option open for an expedited and lower-cost process later on.

…and seasoned clinicians pursing AASECT certification

If you’re a licensed clinician pursuing AASECT certification as a Certified Sex Therapist or Certified Sexuality Counselor, I’m also here to support you. I offer supervision that respects the expertise you already bring while helping expand your clinical skills in new directions, and bringing new layers of awareness to your practice.

In supervision, you will benefit from the tremendous amount of knowledge I’ve built up from years of focused work and multi-disciplinary training in areas that most traditional sex therapists don’t have; women’s sexual health spanning pelvic pain and menstrual (dys)function, as well as the complex interplay of chronic conditions and sexuality across all genders. I share this expertise openly to help you access new perspectives and information, sharpen your practice, and support you to catch subtle dynamics like ableist microaggressions that might otherwise go unchecked.

Together, we will build on your strengths and fill in gaps you didn’t realize you were missing, leaving you confident that your client work is informed & well-attuned to these populations.

If you’re looking for a supervisor who can expand your expertise in women’s sexual health in a collaborative atmosphere, let’s connect.
